About
All learning at the Nambucca Valley Christian Community School takes place in a calm and secure family environment, where home and school work in close partnership to encourage children to be enthusiastic, confident and resilient learners.
Together, home and school nurture and encourage each child to appreciate, develop and enjoy the abilities, opportunities and responsibilities they have, as a person made in the image of God.

Nambucca Valley Christian School was born out of a desire by Christians from different denominations to see a centre for Christian schooling established in the Nambucca Valley.
The school commenced operation on the first day of Term 1 in 1991. It started with 30 students enrolled, a Principal and two teachers. The impetus for the School came from three Congegational Ministers of the area, Reverend P Barnes, Pastor P Hannaford and Pastor M Cathcart, in conjunction with the Coffs Harbour Christian Community School.
A committee was formed in 1989 to look at developing a school in Nambucca Heads as a campus of the Coffs Harbour Christian Community School. Fundraising was undertaken during 1990 and the school opened in Lee Street, Nambucca Heads in the Presbyterian Church Hall. The School enrolments grew steadily during the first year.
At this time the Coffs Harbour Christian Community School was under the direction of the Coffs Harbour Baptist Church. The control of the School locally was with Councillors who reported to the Coffs Harbour Christian Community School Council. Land was eventually purchased in Centenary Parade, Nambucca Heads and by October 1991 plans had been approved by Council for a complex of 10 classrooms and ancillary buildings. As the year drew to an end the School had grown to 43 students and building work had commenced on the current site.
The Presbyterian Church sold its land in Nambucca Heads and the School Hall/Church was included in the plans for the new site.
The enrolments continued to grow in Nambucca Heads so that by 1993 classroom walls were being erected. There were 93 students from 59 families. As the School grew it was decided to seek autonomy from Coffs Harbour Christian Community School (which had itself had become independent). This occurred in January 1996 and the School became a limited company in February of the same year. Governance of the school was then in the hands of the Board of Directors of the School Company which in turn reported on the progress of the School to the Company members. At this time enrolments had reached 110 students.
